Amanda Kay Jenkins

“And they conquered him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, for they loved not their lives even unto death.” Revelation 12:11

I write because I have been given the passion to communicate. I write because I yearn, above all, to spend time with my God, to read His Word and pour forth responsiveness. I write because I was formed by the ultimate Communicator and this ongoing journey of life is a conversation that will not cease. I write because to be known and to know Him is everything to me. It is the marrow of life. To know the inner workings of His Word and every translated word that makes up His Word, to hear His voice by way of the Holy Spirit, is to walk through gateways and doorways and archways into entire new prairies of thinking. I am compelled to respond with the written word through the penning of my hand.

My name means worthy of love, which has been a lifelong pursuit to believe. My middle name, Kay, shares with my grandmother’s name, who was a writer for the society section of an Iowa newspaper. My grandmother forged the way for me to remain committed to God first, husband second and family third. Supper Club, beauty parlor days and sewing Boy Scout patches all came after that.

I have zero qualifications. I had a magazine article published once. I spoke and testified at two Crisis Pregnancy Center events and skidded and failed. Beyond that, I was a Textiles and Apparel major at The University of Texas in 1995. I worked in my field as a clothing buyer for eight years and was fired from one job and quit another. For two decades, I poured my life, my time, my energy, my prayer into standing for a wayward marriage and raising three children, now high school to elementary. My wedding ring has stood devotedly on my left ring finger without fail.

I bring you smarter people and a wiser resource, higher than me. I submit my life to the authority of Jesus Christ, the Bible and my local church.

“When they saw the courage of Peter and John and realized that they were unschooled, ordinary men, they were astonished and they took note that these men had been with Jesus.”
Acts 4:13
